Welcome to the website of the 6th International Anthropological Congress of Dr. Aleš Hrdlička.
Anthropology has always been a branch of science exploring human beings from different angles, introducing new research technologies, spreading modern ideas and inclining to interdisciplinarity.
We welcome all participants dealing with human research from biological, medicine, primatological, cultural and social points of view as well as those who concentrate on various bordering fields of research and deal with human beings only marginally. A part of Congress is the 21st Symposium Praha-Lublin-Sydney-St. Petersburg dealing with human locomotive organs from the point of view of their morphology and treatment.
Participants can expect an interesting scientific programme in form of lectures, posters as well as cultural and hiking events. Hrdlička’s birthplace Humpolec is situated in the Czech-Moravian Highlands, approximately 100 km from the capital Prague, offering beautiful scenery and a lot of historic sights.
To commemorate Dr. Hrdlička’s 150th birth anniversary, his museum is opening a new anthropological exhibition, which you will be able to visit. A part of a Congress is also a festive Hrdlička’s Memorable Medal Award ceremony to anthropological researchers and announcement of the students’ competition results for Dr.Aleš Hrdlička prize in a category of doctoral thesis of Czech doctorate studies. The Czech National Bank is issuing a silver memorable coin with a motive of the famous anthropologist to mark his 150th birth anniversary. The coin will be presented to Congress participants. An interesting cultural program is prepared for all the attendees.
